Effort was made to sample as much of the varied habitat in this region as possible. Considerable work was done in the Khongorin Gol and marshland as well as the surrounding Nitraria reinforced dunes and Saxaul patches. Additional investigation was made of the region surrounding this area including desert steppe, and additional patches of saxaul, marshland and desert pavement.
